Nawam Perehera, Sri Lanka

Dear Arun,

Jim and I just returned from our third trip with Third Eye Travel that took us to the island nation of Sri Lanka. The Nawam Perehera festival parade on Day 2 in Colombo, with its elephants, dancers and drummers, was a cinematic and interesting Buddhist celebration that takes place on the Full Moon Day in February.

As biologists, we particularly enjoyed our two 4x4 jeep safaris: one to lush and green Minneriya National Park (Day 4) where we saw an abundance of elephants up close and personal; the second to drier Yala National Park (Day 9) where we spotted crocodiles, wild boars, two species of Asian deer, more elephants, mongooses and an abundance of birds. Our guide, Saliya, was an extremely knowledgeable naturalist with a great eye who was able to identify bird species throughout the entire trip.

Jetwing Warwick Gardens, a stone colonial bungalow with old world ambience, was by far our favorite accommodation. Set amid the hills and tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, this hideaway was a private and welcome respite from the heat and congestion of the cities located at lower elevations.

However, it is always your kindness, attention to detail, and personal contact that encourages Jim and me to return to Third Eye Travel again and again. You far exceed other tour companies that we have engaged.

I continue to advise all my friends and fellow travelers to seek out your website for exotic travel that is reasonably priced.
