For our second trip with Third Eye Travel, Jim and I chose the Discover Indonesia tour, which was a second success.
Once again we had multiple guides and drivers, and once again your logistics were flawless, our contacts punctual.
We did not travel to Indonesia for its beaches, but for its more interesting aspects: the people, the culture and the food. But the essence of Indonesia is definitely the people—gentle, kind, always smiling, and always welcoming pictures.
All our accommodations on the three islands were superb, and we particularly enjoyed DusunJogja Village Inn on Java, with its fishpond entrance and greenery surrounding the blue lagoon-like pool; Komaneka Resort, a tranquil gardened oasis in central Ubud on Bali; and the luxurious Quinci Villas on Lombok, which offered us an idyllic ocean view room on the Indian Ocean.
Our favorite part of the tour was the glimpses of everyday life through visits to small rural villages, outdoor markets, and driving through the countryside—a must for anyone’s travel experience. And once again, since there were only the two us, we enjoyed our guides taking us to additional places that were not on the itinerary.
